Female hormones

So, when can I expect my hormones to straighten out a bit?  I'm 6 weeks out from surgery and I'm on my THIRD period!  That's even with being on the pill.  I do have PCOS, so I guess I'm even more messed up than most women hormone-wise, but this is getting ridiculous!

Soy can be a factor in that as well.  I would, if you can, switch out some of your soy products for alternatives.  I have issues with soy messing with my hormones.  If you are not eating or drinking lots of soy, not sure what the issue could be.  I have PCOS and my cycle regulated within 2 months of surgery and has been steady for the last two as well, every 30 days.  I keep soy to a minimum, so I use a plant based protein called PlantFusion.  I get it on Amazon if you want to check it out.  Hope you figure it out soon.  What a pain, literrally.

“Not many of us are living at our best.  We linger in the lowlands because we are afraid to climb the mountains.  The steepness and ruggedness dismay us, and so we stay in the misty valleys and do not learn the mystery of the hills.  We do not know what we lose in our self indulgence.  What glory awaits us if only we had the courage for the mountain climb.  What blessing we should find if only we would move to the uplands of God.?  JRM

I didn't have period issues post op, but I definitely had mood swings from the shifts in hormones. It took a few months to sort itself out (maybe 4-5?). It does pass, but our fat cells store lots of estrogen and it gets released as we lose the weight. Yuck.

Also - you may want to take a pregnancy test just in case!!

I had the same issue. Definitely take a pregnancy test just in case, and call your gyno to keep them in the loop, but otherwise I have been told it's pretty much normal. I'm almost 4 months out from surgery, and for a while there I was having a period every two weeks like clockwork. My dr said because of the rapid weight loss, it would take the pill about 3 months to regulate itself, and that by the end of month 4 I should be normal. I'll let you know how that goes in another week or so, when I should be starting my next period lol.

Make sure your dr is in the loop for all symptoms in case something amiss does come up, but otherwise just know this is pretty much normal.
