Sam's Club Items to Buy Post Op?

I saw someones post regarding items to but at Costco so I decided to do the same for Sam's Club.

What are some good items to buy at Sam's Club for post-op sleevers?  Right now since I'm still on the liquid diet I only get my RTD Protein (Premier Protein) and bottled water there.  However, I wanted to get some suggestions for later from others that are further along in the post-op phase.

Thank you!

Regards,
Larry

Hey Larry,

I posted on the Costco question stating that I shop at Sam's -- they both carry pretty much the same things -- prices vary somewhat, but also close.

My shopping list was for stocking up on Premier Protein shakes -- chocolate and vanilla -- at Sam's they are $18.88 for a 12 pack of 11 ounce shakes.  I also bought about 10 pounds of ground turkey breast -- extra lean (99% lean, 1% fat).  I use that for browned ground meat in sloppy joes, loose meat in spaghetti sauce, tacos, and then mixed for mini-meatloaves and my home made Italian turkey meatballs.  And if you don't use a Brita filter water pitcher for your drinking water, Sam's always has great prices on bottled water.  I always but a couple of dozen eggs when I'm there, too.  They have excellent meats and poultry in the meat cases.  I have always bought their chicken breasts, even pre-VSG.

The best thing I can tell you is to take a cart and walk around the store where they have fresh stuff -- forget most of the canned and processed foods areas.  Each plan is different, so I'm not buying much fresh veggies or fruit -- another month and I will start doing that.  I get a bag of onions and some garlic -- use those in many things.  And zip by the herbs and spices area -- you can put a lot of zing in your meals with those.

Hope this helps.

Agree with princess- I shop at both.  I buy identical items from both places, just sometimes the sizes are a little differernt.  I did buy the muscletech protein powder from sams and I am not sure if that is at costco- but please know this brand is not endorsed by my nutritionist.  It is good for the protein but completly lacks the vitamins and calcium.  I am just at a point where I get all that from food and just need the protein from the shakes.  And it is a WHOLE lot friendlier on the wallet.  I still buy the RTD pure protein for work days.

Sams also has a few different chicken salads, I prefer the one with cranberries & pecans, babybel cheese, feta cheese, davinci flavored sf/ff syrups, eggs, beef jerky, chobani 12 packs, canned chicken, crab, and tuna meat, fruits, they have a frozen product that is large shrimp, cheese, & bacon wrapped together on a skewer forgot name? shelled tail off shrimp in large bag...cottage cheese.

I could go on forever!

The items I get regularly at Sam's Club:
huge quantities of eggs (I cook with them a lot!)
giant salmon filet
tilapia sometimes
skim milk
Premier Protein premade shakes
Onions (red and white and yellow)
Red peppers
Romaine hearts
broccoli florets
brussels sprouts
sugar snap peas
FF Chobani in the big tubs
Sea Scallops
goat cheese
brie
smoked gouda
lite Baby Bell (sometimes... they're pretty expensive!)
ground turkey and ground beef for my family
deli meat for my family
potatoes for my family
coffee
half & half

We don't eat much in the way of processed foods... I think if it were just me shopping for myself I'd get the onions, the fish, the cheeses, skim milk, eggs and the green veggies. I eat salmon just about every day.

I get John Soule's fajita strips (really versitile) and they have a pre-cooked sliced pork loin that is delicious too.  I also get an olive garden grated cheese mix that is great of cheese crisps.

What is Olive Garden grated cheese mix? I tried looking it up on the Sam's website but its showing Olive Garden Italian salad dressing? Is it the salad dressing or this supposed to be a bag of various cheeses?  Thanks! -Larry
