HELP What Can I Do -- Who Can I Turn To????

Leaving is not an option at this point -- too much to go into, but some day it will happen.  No, I don't just take it...........I do lash out.  I'm lucky enough to have a house large enough that I can have my own "get away" and be away from him as much as possible.

I'm please with my progress -- doing what I can to follow my plan as perfectly as I can.

The best thing about this is that I didn't turn to food for comfort.  That's a new behavior that came easily..........at least this time

 In no way would I every condone what your husband said to you! Have you considered the fact that he is afraid? You have taken serious action to make changes in your life, he is a part of your old life - he even sabatoged your previous efforts! 

Talk to him and let him know exactly the effect that his comment had on you both emotionally and psychologically.

Yes, I'm sure he has issues about the changes that are coming, but for once in the 42 years we've been married, I'd like to concentrate on ME and not have to worry about a grown man who should be able to deal with this without being verbally abusive. 

For now, I'm just grateful for all the kind responses I've received here..........and I'm also grateful that I didn't turn to food for comfort..........a good behavioral change!

I'm happy with my progress so far..... and I intend to ignore as best I can the toxic people in my life!

Hi Sleeve Sister- There is not much more I can add to what has already been said,but I will add that a good therapist can really help you deal with these issues with your family. Big Cyber Hug to you! Please don't let your husband define how you feel about yourself.
