Those already SLEEVED...month 1
on 7/30/12 2:34 pm
When I had lapband I was about 20 pounds heavier at the time of surgery and lost 19 pounds in the first four weeks.
I know you didn't ask that, but I just thought it was interesting. Similar, but a little better.
Before I could get approved, I had to do a 3 month multidisciplinary diet and exercise plan (which ended up being 4 months because I didn't document the first month correctly). Anyway, in the 4 months I lost a total of almost 40 lbs...so roughly 10 lbs /month.
I was sleeved July 10th (3 weeks ago to the day) and am currently down 19.8 lbs since surgery.
I'm sure my results aren't average. There's a huge difference between pre-surgery and post surgery.
Pre surgery I ate 1500 calories/day
post surgery I'm lucky to get in 500
Pre surgery, I would hit the gym at least 3x/week for a minimum of 30 minutes each time
Post surgery, I'm more tired so I'm not working out as intensely...but I do make sure I get up and walk a lot (be it way slower than before and I wouldn't even think about hopping on my elliptical yet).
I hope it helps you...I agree with Moonglo...I don't want to set people up for feeling like a failure or have people push to try to do something different than what they're currently doing. Everyone progresses differently. I feel very blessed that this surgery can help me and I'm hoping it will help me keep the weight off this time. Lord knows, I've lost and gained back my body weight at least once (probably more like 2 or 3 times) over the past 15 years.
