Hair Loss
Hi all! I was wondering if the hair loss stops at a certain timeframe after surgery. I am getting over and above my protein each day but I still see hair loss. The hair loss is over the usual amount of hair we lose on a daily basis. I just want to make sure there isnt something else I should be doing to stop the hair loss. HELP!!
I haven't done anything to help stop the hairloss. Maybe I should have but I haven't. I just wasnt really convinced that any one hair product would prevent hair loss for everyone. I just deal with it but luckily I had super thick hair before. Some of my WLS friends who didnt have thick hair to begin with, ended up cutting their hair shorter to give the illusion of more fullness.
Hopefully someone will chime in if they discovered a miracle product. I'd be interested to find out too!
BTW, congrats on being so close to goal!!!

WWBD?
I was told to expect 6-9 months, some people experience it up to a year.
I am getting over 100g of protein a day and take 10000 mcg of Biotin daily. For me, I am not seeing anymore hair loss - even some thickening. Of course this is just in time for my plastics which will probably result in the hair loss starting all over again.

Oh sorry Mende...forgot to add...my hair loss did NOT COMPLETELY STOP......until I was 13 months post op. ^protein, biotin, zinc, selenium silica, nioxin, protein shampoos, ..didn't do NUTHIN!! waste of time and money!! Coincidentally at 13 months post op...I never lost another pound either!
I also had other hormonal/metabolic issues (menopause) that contributed to/exacerbated my hair loss my first year!
upsetting for a year you betcha! but I never went bald!......not with all that new regrowth!!
Regrowth, REBIRTH inevitable post VSG! don't fight the feelin , -)

Try lambs placenta, I'm sure spelled that wrong. You can get that at any Sally's store. Also if you have extra money you should get the in fared rake or comb that's sold on sky mall.com I'm a Cosmetologists and that will help grow hair back,it stimulates the hair follicle. I hope that helps. Im going to have the surgery too I hope I have a acid tummy and have redness it will take 2 weeks to clear up in the meantime Im finishing up those yuchy test and the psch thing and class then im done .At the end of aug. I hope I get done by Sept. praying Bye
I am 3.5 years post-op. I had serious hair loss for over a year and tried EVERYTHING and spent tons of money to try to get it to stop. Nothing worked except time and perhaps calories (not protein) My hair is as thick as ever now and no longer falls out. It will stop falling ou,t don't worry, or waste your money on products and excess protein.
