I haven't noticed food tasting metallic.  I noticed that without all of the fat and sugar in what I was eating, I could taste the aural real tastes of food.  That could be what's happening in your case.

If the food is still tasting like metal to you after a full week, then it's not ketosis.  It could be a zinc deficiency, or it could be that you ate some spoiled pine nuts (that taste can last for two weeks or more after you eat them), or it could be a result of the vitamins you are taking, or medications.  There are many reasons for the metallic taste, and if it continues, you should check it out because it is not part of the normal VSG journey (if it lasts longer than the early ketosis stage).

Talk to your pharmacist.  Ask him/her to look at the side effects of all of your medications.   There are a lot of meds that can change the taste of food.  Try using plastic utensils and different seasonings.  Lemonade or other flavors (mio or crystal light) may taste better than jus****er.  Hope you find a solution.
