NSV- Dance of JOY in the hotel pool
I am taking my son off to his freshman year in college 9 hours away from home. My daughter who graduated from college in May is coming along. I decided to book hotels that had a pool and a hot tub, because I finally feel I can be seen in public in a swimsuit. It has been a long time! I bought a clearance swimsuit in a size 16 and away we went. I have lost 60 pounds including pre and post op.
We arrived at the hotel at 9:30 pm. I had just driven 5 hours, cleaned the house and run errands during the day, and hardly slept the night before. My daugher and I went to the huge indoor pool/hot tub. We were the only ones there. It was Heaven! I alternated from the pool to the hot tub a couple of times. Then I decided to do a little exercise since my daughter was swimming some laps. Luckily nobody was there to watch, because I did my own little jogging-dancing- arm movements-splashing routine for 20 minutes. The pool area was rather dark, but the underwater lights were bright and beautiful. I truly felt a sense of peace and joy. It was the most "present in the moment" feeling I have had in I can't remember when. My body felt energized despite the long day, and it felt so free and light there in the pool.
Yea! For some many years I denied myself going swimming or into a hot tub. I just sat and watched as my family went in. Now I feel better about my body. I can only imagine how I will feel when I lose 75 more pounds.
I plan to go swimming every morning and night on this trip!!
