My new surgery date is November 5th!  Hopefully this time around i will have surgery since July 2 did not happen for me.  All my paperwork is in order except for 1 Dr. Note from 2008 (if my BMI was not at 35 then im screwed) .  I have to tell you I am a little discouraged.  Nothing to do with the actual surgery,  Just afraid that after going through all this i will be denied again.  Bigtime Fear!  Anyone else feel this way?  What are you doing to change your frame of mind?

My surgery date was supposed to be November 5th initially also.  Than it looked like I was getting cleared for everything so I changed it to October 1st.  Only to find out I'm diagnosed with sleep apnea and now it's going to have to be postponed appox 2 to 3 months!  I have to get used to wearing a cpap than get cleared by a pulmalogist!  When I wore the cpap at the sleep study it caused to to get very cluster phobic.  I woke in the morning with a panic attack.  I'm so worried I will not be albe to do this.  I understand your frustration as I am cleared with everything else and was ready.

I am sorry to hear your date was postponed. I just wanted to offer some advice to help you get used to the mask. I used essential oils with my cpap. You put a few drops on a cotton ball then place it next to the air intake (back of machine). I really like lavendar, eculyptus w/lemon, cedarwood and rosemary. The scents were soothing - like aromatherapy. It helped me to tolerate the mask.
I got the oils off ebay. It was about $11 for 4 bottles that have lasted almost a year. I hope it gets better.

good luck to you.  I can't offer any advice about the Cpap machine.  Hope you can get used to it quickly!

My husband did not like the mask covering his nose.  He switched to the nasal pillow that only goes up the nose.  He has been on CPAP for 3 weeks and really loves the nasal pillow being less restrictive!
