How'd I do post op'ers???
I'm still a preop person and went shopping for my 3 weeks of clear liquids.
I bought:
Sugar free banana Popsicles
Lemon icee
100% Cranberrry apple juice
100% Cranberry raspberry juice
Big bag of ice
Raspberry tea bags
Decaf Green tea bags
Gatorade
Powerade
How did I do?????????
Can you think of something I should add???
Thx :)

You may find that the juices, powerade and gatorades with full sugar are not going to be good on your new stomach. VSGers have been known to dump, especially in the early days. Also, in all honesty, I would not stock up on too much because you may find your tastes change and what you like now will gross you out after.

I agree about the juices, Gatorade and Powerade, unless they're SF. You might consider some crystal light or SF koolaid or wyler's or something along those lines. Once you're past the clear liquids phase you can use them to flavor your gr yogurt and cottage cheese. One of the PPs was right too, you'll probably get tired of sweet things. Check into Unjury's website and see about getting their chicken soup. Also, I love Aquafina flavored water - it's not carbonated, and it's clear but has a good flavor. My favorite is grape.
Also, Isopure has ready-to-drink protein drinks that are OK to use in the clear stage - if you can stand them. Some people find them extremely gross, others OK. I got about four bottles in different flavors at Vitamin Shoppe. I finished them, and they helped me meet both my liquid and protein requirements early out, but I'm glad I didn't buy any more. It helped to pour it over ice, it's better very cold (and a little diluted by the melting ice).
Good luck with your upcoming surgery!

Look for the gaterade that has the word zero at the end- no issues with sugar then. It does help fend of dehydration, but you likely couldn't even tolerate the sweetness of the sugar variety let alone the empty calories.
Are you allowed to use protein powder or cream of chicken soup that is a high protein?
Isopure plus counts as clear liquid and is loaded with protein. Some can't stand it, but I did great with it. You can find it at a gnc or vitamin world and in some drug stores. Don't buy a case until you try it post op though.
