I can't say enough good things about my support group!! They are a great new family that I have been blessed with. I love them so much. I have grown with each of these girls in the past few months. We have bonded over shared experiences. We are all so excited about our journeys. This is definitely not something that someone who has not had the surgery would ever understand. We share the excitements of getting up each day. Each day is a gift and I am excited to wake up, get up, and get it unwrapped!! We each have a renewed love of life. I enjoy meeting with my girls (and guys when they come) twice a month (and sometimes outside of group we gather to hear local musicians play, hit a movie, or just hang out). I look forward to seeing them every two weeks and seeing the changes in their bodies and confidence. Even though I see them bi-monthly, it is like reuniting with long lost family members that you can't wait to see. I can barely sleep the night before my meetings.  I can't wait until September 11th!!!

I'm glad you have a great support group. OH is my support group. Sorry but I dont care for the support group meetings I have available to me thru Kaiser. Kinda boring & not very motivating for me.

Hanging out IRL with my OH friends is great too!

I wish you lived closer and could come hang with us. We have a blast!!  I know that you have OH friends close to you that you do things with, and you are very lucky. i agree that OH is  DEFINITELY an excellent support group. I love posting a question and getting an answer quickly. I love sharing my NSV's here and having a big cheering section. I love that everyone here is real with each other and we can vent and really be candid with one another.

NOBODY at my group uses OH!! I LOVE OH. I am addicted to it like I am to Facebook!! I take a lot of the things I learn here to support and they love it, which is why it amazes me that no one ever uses this website. We decided last night that we are going to start sharing NSV's at the start of our group meetings each time now. They loved that suggestion!!

Okay..are you in Texas??? I would like to have a support group to go to as well but there is really nothing out there except for what the surgeon's in the area have and you can't really go there if you're not their patient...

Depressing I know but I do have a great support system at home in my wonderful husband...Just love him!

No, I am in NC, and the great thing about our support group is that it is with my Surgeon's team, the surgeons and nurses attend the meetings and answer questions, and lead support sometimes...but here's the kicker EVERYONE is invited, pre-op, post-op, potential pre-op, their patients, other surgeon's patients, husbands, wives, children, best friends, all God's children are invited!! They do not discriminate. They are very well aware of the importance of the support system and are there for EVERYONE!! I love my Dr. Bruce, Dr. Tyner and their team!!! LOVE THEM!!!  I wish I could be there to support you!! I wish I could clone my support group and send them to you too!! At least I can be here to support you. I hope you are able to find something in your area. Hugs to you!!!

Your group sounds great! I'm hoping mine will start to feel like that soon.

I wish you where here.  Our support group has gotten pretty poopy.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.
