Four months later... with pics
It didn't feel that way in the middle of it. I knew I could be sticking to it better than I was. If I weren't a lightweight I probably would have been more motivated to, but I knew I was halfway to goal, had plenty of time left in my honeymoon stage, and I also don't react well to what I might perceive as deprivation. I was having a difficult enough time with everything that was going on, and if I'd stuck to the more rigid eating plan I was on before and am on again now, I think I might have ended up going the other way and stress-eating.
The biggest help for me (and I know that other people would not benefit from this) is when I finally brought my bathroom scale to the hotel so I could weigh every morning like I do at home. As soon as I saw that I'd gained almost two pounds since last weigh-in, I had no trouble focusing on portion control more diligently. For me, weighing daily is a must, because I am definitely "out of sight, out of mind." I cope far better with daily fluctuations and even stalls than I do with not weighing at all.

You may do even better. I have not been one of the fast losers. I'm not the slowest, either. Part of it is because my original goal was only to lose 80 pounds (I raised it to 90) and those with less weight to lose usually go slower. But my point is, the important thing is that it really doesn't matter whether it's slow or fast. It WORKS. And believe me, when I see myself in the mirror and see the clothes I'm wearing, I don't waste a single second thinking, "I could have been ten pounds or thirty pounds closer to goal if I were going as fast as this or that person." Not one second!
Good luck!
