I don't have too much to add except my thoughts and best wishes are with you!

I'm 7 months post op and just had my first glass of wine the other night, which turned into a glass the next night as well.  I've never, ever been much of a drinker (always a total lightweight!) and it hit me so fast, I was shocked.  The bottle of wine went down the drain and I won't be doing that again; it tasted way too good, helped me sleep and made me a little too relaxed.  My weight loss has kind of stalled so it felt good to forget about it for awhile; the next day, though, I thought "This surely isn't going to kick start my loss again, drinking wine instead of water!"

Hang in there, do what you have to do and get whatever help you can.  It's great that your work offers free help.  A beloved family member went to an 8 week treatment facility 3 years ago and it changed my whole family's attitude about alcohol.  Unfortunately, it's the times when we really, really want a drink that we shouldn't be cracking the bottle.

Thank you so much everyone! I went home last night and didn't even crave a drink or think about it at all! I think that admitting it and putting it out there is half the battle, and don't think it's a good idea for me to be even a social drinker. I do enjoy it too much and don't want to risk my health like that. I am going to start going to meetings (starting tonight) and get the help I need to stay on course and be healthy. It's just so embarassing when everything else is so perfect. I feel like such a "health nut" with the exception of this new issue.

Last night my BF and I watched a movie, then hit the gym and had a healthy dinner. I had a wonderful night without drinking... I just need to stay strong.

Thanks again for all of the kinds words of encouragement! I don't know what I would do without OH!
Hi I'm Diana! I'm 5'10 and hoping to get down to 165 :) Feel free to friend me!
