I made a mistake in my eating tonight, only the second since surgery, but I was feeling pretty bad (both physically and mentally). Your post was exactly what I needed to hear at exactly the right time. Thank you!

I had to remind myself to slow down this very week and haven't even had surgery yet. In addition to surgery, I will graduate college within the year and had considered buying a condo. I felt the walls closing in and decided to wait on the condo, there will be plenty of those around after things calm down. That was stress I could control and decided I wanted this more.
Do forgive us Newbies though...we are excited and nervous and I would guess all have been over-weight for so long (or always) that we lack patience. We are so excited by you guys that have already worn the path for us so we are like kids at Christmas! I guess I shouldn't speak for everyone but I am ready for this new life and am so happy something like this group exists so I can see reality and not something I've dreamed up.

The only failure is the failure to learn from your mistakes.

Just wanted to see that again!  Great advice, Rob.  As always.
