Advice for New to Surgery
If you have not measured do so! There are days, weeks, even a month that the weight does not change, but inches do.
I have not lost a pound since 8/18/12. Here are my inches changes since 12/17/11 (16 days after surgery, I did not measure before).
Neck 17.8-14.5
Waist 44.1-40
Bicep 17.5-13.5
Forearm 12.0-10
Chest 43.2-38.5
Hips 54-44.5
Thigh 30.5-26
Calf 19.5-17
I measure monthly.
Total inches lost-34.6
Size pants tight 26W - 14 misses
Size shift 3X-Large
I'll take those NSVs any day!

What great advice! I didn't measure before either and since my surgery (8/28/2012) I have been religious about checking my weight each morning. I made the comment to my husband that I saw the numbers going down on the scale but that I didn't SEE it when I looked at myself. He said, "what are you talking about?! Your butt is shrinking by the day and my arms wrap around you more each day! To hell with that scale!" (And THAT is why I love my man - he knows just what to say! LOL!)
I think I'm going to take my measurements today. If for no other purpose, for comparison in the weeks to come. The scale is only one way for us to measure and it would appear that it's not as reliable as I've given it credit to be. Thanks for your post reminding us there's more than one way to measure our success!
And congrats to you! Sounds like you're doing FANTASTIC!!!!

Excellent post! I strongly reccommend this also. I measured the day before surgery and then again a few weeks ago and I have lost a total of 84 inches!! Amazing! Even if you don't see the scale move, you will lose inches.
