I had a wool coat that I loved. It was dark hunter green, and came from Lands End. I regretfully gave it to Salvation Army because I knew a 2X was not going to fit me under any cir****tances by the time it gets cold in Dallas again.

Lands End has some gorgeous new wool coats--with a touch of cashmere, even. And they keep putting them on sale. This is the best sale yet. 40% off! I want one desperately, but have no idea which size to get. And I know, truly know, I should just wait. It will probably be November before there is a day cold enough to even wear it, if then.

But I want it.

I think a M will fit me now and even if it's a bit large, later. But somebody tell me I'm foolish to buy it so long before I need it, when I'm still losing weight, okay? Somebody give me some tough love. *****slap me into submission.

Because I'm about ready to whip out the debit card!

THIS IS THE COAT I WANT.

If a medium will fit you now, you should buy a small--the closer you get to your goal the more sizes you will lose.   Trust me...bought clothes when I reached 150 pounds (now 123 pounds) and now wear 2 or 3 sizes less.

I can't imagine wearing a small.  I'm almost 5' 8" and that would be really skinny.  But I think you're right.  And if it is ridiculous, I can send it back.

I just bought myself a new coat - with some cashmere.
What I did was buy a size that won't close for another 10#. It looks great - it just won't zip yet. I plan to wear it open with a long, cosy scarf for now. If all goes well it should fit properly by the time it's cold enough that I really need it to zip up.

Well...buy the size you think will work.   You can exchange or return at a later date..

Enjoy!

*****Im looking forward to fitting into my long fur again, I haven't been able to close it since I had my twins 8 years ago!

The one thing I hadn't considered is that I can hang it up until I need it and if it's wrong, exchange it. Duh!!!

Thank you!

Love your picture!  You're looking a little green around the gills, though.

I would buy the medium for sure, and keep it hanging up until it's time to wear it. Remember that you'll probably be wearing a sweater underneath your coat, so you don't want it tight anyway! Isn't it fun to worry that you size-medium coat might just be too big?? Crazy! WTG. You're doing so well! Congrats!!
