Accidental Plastics Consult lol

So, I was at the dentist today and I remembered my bariatric surgeon recommended a plastic surgeon nearby.

It was in the same business complex come to find out. I walked in thinking I was going to set up a consultation and they were like can you do it now?

I was on my way to the gym but decided what the hell. I am already going to a Zumba class tonight and was just going to try to fit in some more cardio before picking up the kids from school.

How weird, right? It went well. Pricing on a lift and augmentation was higher than I thought. About $8K for everything included a year worth of follow up appointments.

She said my back and butt looks great but my stomach work will be around $6K. She thinks my thighs will firm up as will my arms but if my thighs don't, it's another $6K.

So, essentially $20K for all the work I could possibly need. This is with silicone implants, not saline. So, this is the highest possible price everything could be. What I was suprised about is that it only saved about $500 by getting two procedures done at once.

I'm going to start looking at boobs I like and deciding saline vs. silicone. I won't have my boobs done for another 4 months of so but it was weird to just walk in like that. She said she's operating on about 8 bariatric patients per month.

I'm going to put this on the plastics forum if I can figure out how but what do you guys think price-wise? Pretty standard?

Thanks!

Well that's crazy efficient and convenient. I'll be interested what the plastics forum has to say. I know nothing about boob jobs because I've always been over-blessed in that department. I suspect I will still need a reduction (and lift) post-op based on what has not gone away when I've lost 40-50 pounds in the past. The money sounds like a lot but it also sounds worth it to have everything right... my friend who had RNY 12 years ago had major plastics done after her loss and she has said it was worth everything dime.

Sounds about right - My total package will be about 26K after both surgeries.  The one on the 3rd  (T-19 days) is 17K.

My advice - do several consults with different surgeons.  In my experience there wasn't a big price difference, but I chose my surgeon based on his clinical exam during the first consult.  The surgeon I chose didn't have the nicest office, and he hadn't "remodeled" his staff like the other two.

What he did do was the most thorough clinical exam, he examined all of the skin in all of the areas - palpated the underlying musculature to know what he was working with.  He even measured the separation in my abdominals.

The other two surgeons had offices right off a Bravo reality show.  They had perfect front office people with blond hair, boobs, perfect skin, and perfect teeth.  They both spent about 3 minutes total examining me.  They showed me two or three pictures of ta-tas and back sides.  (I don't WANT ta-tas or an apple bottom butt, i DO NOT WANT TO BE J-LO)

The surgeon I chose - he had a gallery of hundreds of patients.  He showed me patients with similar genders (BIG IMPORTANCE), ages, and amount of weight lost.  He described to me exactly what we would need to do, why, and how.  I got a detailed quote.

I go back for my final consult before my LBL on Monday.

Oh yeah, I posted a cool you tube video showing a LBL and breast augmentation from YouTube on the plastics forum.  Don'****ch if you're squeamish.  I havent found a vid showing the procedure on a guy.

Well thats the advantage of being a gay man - at least I could be clinical about it.

Like I told a model who tried to entice me by flashing me - Those things are not going to get to me unless they are made by Louis Vuitton!

Don't know about prices but will tell you that silicone is the way to go!  I had a bilateral mastectomy w/reconstruction about 10 years ago and because I don't have any of my own breast tissue, I wanted them to feel as natural as possible and they do!  I have been very pleased.  It's funny because I need plastic surgery every where else on my body but the boobies still look great!

Im not exactly positive but i think it sounds reasonable. I had a cousin who had a breast lift and augmentation and total body life with lip on her legs and she was about $25,000 i believe. so sounds like its in the ball park. but holy cow! thats alot of money!
