I'm a cry baby!!
VSG on 09/04/12
So between the Mirena and the re-appearance of abdominal pain, and the not eating, and the dealing with my emotions instead of shoving them down with cheeseburgers and brownies, and the fact that my stupid wii-motes are broken, and my son keeps having tantrums and I don't see my husband because it's football season and he coaches, and my keurig isn't working right, and I seem to be constipated and I haven't had any weight loss in a full wee****ep crying. I'm just super emotional, and I don't exactly know what to do with that. Slowly but surely I guess I'm learning, but I am totally wacked out!
I'll give you another reason - as your fat breaks down hormones stored there are getting released too...
I remember right after surgery I would complain that I was turning into an emotional wreck - I would just cry for no reason. It didn't last long and I settled down.
Let yourself feel what you feel. It will pass and you'll be stronger for it.

Hi Mary
Post and cry all you want! If you stay on plan, this will pass. For now, feel free to vent and unload here -- that's why we're here -- to help each other through these times.
Give yourself some slack -- you are coming here to get these things out instead of grabbing the nearest slice of pizza or candy bar! I'd say you're handling all those things you're coping with exactly as you should!
I promise you that things will get better!

Thank you both. This ride is like nothing else I've ever done and I'm just hanging on tight!
Well, maybe this will make you feel better (that's what I'm hoping), but your post actually made me smile. The way you worded it was perfect and I could totally feel your pain. I totally got it about the Keurig too! I need mine!!
So .... keep venting and crying all you need to. We're happy to help. I'm sure you'll feel much better before you realize it!!

I hear you girl.
Right after surgery I was a complete emotional wreck for a while. It leveled off.
Now I'm on a gigantic dose of steroids because I was just diagnosed with ITP, and I'm back on a liquid diet because of it. So I'm in a similar boat as you, I've got some raging emotions, not losing any weight, and I'm effing starving. This too shall pass though, you can do it.

Will it help if I tell you how to fix your Keurig? (besides the usual descale, clean the needle and take off and put back on the reservoir)
Get a new or sanitized toothbrush. Take off the reservoir and give the wee outlet on the bottom a good brushing, then wipe dry. Brush the matching inlet on the machine and dab it dry. Now put the reservoir back on the machine and make yourself a coffee. ((hugs))

Our bodies store estrogen in our fat cells. More fat cells=more stored estrogen. It is one of the reasons some obese women struggle to get pregnant; their hormone levels are so out of whack the body doesn't know if it should release eggs, hold on to them, or flush the entire system and reboot.
As you lose weight, your body is emptying out your fat cells for energy to get through your day. Estrogen is released right along with the fat and it is flooding your system. The first few months when you are dropping a lot of weight are the worst! It is like being in a constant state of PMS! I promise, there were days when I didn't want to be around me, so I could understand why everyone else was keeping their distance in my house!
It will get better. Eventually. And I totally hear you about being a football widow. Just think, he'll show back up at the house in November/December (depending on how far he goes in the playoffs) and he'll wonder who this sexy, thin goddess is who has taken up residence in his house! It will be a second honeymoon!
