6 months out!!! Pics :)
I can't believe today is already six months since Dr. Aceves helped me to change my life. So much has changed, it's unreal!
-My weight has gone from 250 to 158. In 8 more pounds, I can join the century club!
-Total weight lost since highest weight ever of 277: 119 pounds. The 277 was several years ago, but gosh darnit, I had to lose those pounds too, so they count IMO!
-Pant size the day of surgery: 22/24. Pant size as of yesterday morning: 8's, if I'm wearing compression ;) Without the compression, 10's are loose.
-A side note about those size 8's: they are fitting me 30 pounds earlier than I thought they would. Guess I need to reevaluate my goal size!
-Wedding rings will have to be resized soon.
-A1C before surgery: 7%. A1C as of the end of August: 5.3% (which means my doctor no longer considers me diabetic!)
-Blood pressure has gone from borderline high to borderline low.
-Ran my first ever 5k last weekend, and ran all but about a minute and a half of it. Who would have ever thought that I could be a RUNNER??? If you had told me back in March that I would be running on a regular basis this fall, I would have laughed at you.
-Wearing shoes with heels is not as painful as it used to be. It's still not comfortable, but more manageable.
-I can now fit into my middle school cheerleading uniform! The top is actually big, and the skirt fits.
Here's the before pic. It's me and my husband about a year before he had his surgery. I was at my highest weight of 277 (or close to it) in this pic:

Here we are last weekend at our first 5k:

Sorry the pics are so big. I thought about trying to resize them, but I always seem to mess up the length to width ratio and then they don't look right, so I just left them alone.
It's been a wild ride, but totally worth it! My husband wants to get some type of plastic surgery next summer, and we may just be trying to start out family around then too. Trying to get pregnant used to be a source of depression for me, because I had it in my mind that I wouldn't be able to have a healthy pregnancy. Now I'm convinced that I can do this. I can't wait to move on to the next stage of my life, which means finishing grad school and hopefully becoming a mother! If I get plastics, it will wait until after we are finished having kids, and I'm good with that.
Have a great weekend everyone!
