If you're not a work-out-at-the-gym kind of person, or for any other reason are interested in areobics, balance, etc. done at home, check out what is available for your home game system.

I bought a Wii just to get the Wii Fit to go with it a few years ago.  I'm really loving it now.

You start relatively slowly and the more you use it, the more exercises open up for you to do.

My favorite these days is to do the free-run for 10 minutes (may make it longer soon) because I can run in place while I switch channels and the wii control in my hand will keep me update on the time, or I can mute the television and listen to my iPod while I run in place.  It's a way for me to get aerobics and also steps on my fitbit while listening to an audiobook. FTW!

I have been thinking about dusting off my wii fit as well. I also have dance dance revolution that is fun and really good exercise! Also biggest loser challenge for wii is absolute murder if you want to challenge yourself more later on :)

I just did a 20-minute run and could have kept going, which blows my mind. It's amazing how NOT carrying around 75 pounds of lard will change your stamina!

Bad news is my fitbit came off when I pulled my sweater off about 3 minutes into it and I didn't log the steps!!!

I have Dance, Dance, too.  I also love the boxing on Wii Fit. I'm going to try that soon, but right now I'm after getting myself into a rhythm where I actually get 10,000 steps a day--something I've only done rarely.

The wii is what started my confidence in my ability to jog!!  I started with the 10 minute free run and worked up to 30 minutes.  Then I started jogging on the treadmill.  :)

The wii fit is so much fun - the kids like to watch me work-out with it, and if I'm not doing a sustained aerobic workout, I let them take turns with some of the fun balance games.

I just purchased a platform that you put under the wii balance board to turn it into a real step.  So now I'm doing the free-step workouts and they are actually effective.  Stepping onto a 1 inch platform never really did anything for me... but, now I'm sweating! Love it!

When I started my weight loss journey (that is such a cheesy phase, I gotta think of another one to use...) I was over the weight limit for the wii fit board.  It was a big milestone for me when I lost enough weight that I could use it! :)

The one exercise I can't do is that hula dance once.  It's so much fun but it just kills my back.  Ouch.

Nutshell:

Lost 140 lbs with VSG. (Hooray!!)

got pregnant  (yeaaaa!)

got cancer (boooo!)

regained 40 lbs.   (grrrr!)

In summary: Alive & Grateful.

How about weight loss adventure? Hold on tight--it's a wild ride!

Is it a specific platform made for the Wii Fit platform? I am so uncoordinated it's constantly fussing at me about my lack of rhythm!

Oh, my... I hear you on the uncoordination thing.   If you want some comedy, you should come and watch me attempt to do Richard Simmons Sweating to the Oldies... or Zumba.  Ha!  I am constantly tripping over myself.  I can't seem to figure out my lefts and rights.  It's a sad, sad, (and, yes, comic) sight.   That's why I love very basic kinds of exercise. Like jogging.  Stepping.  I go do those things without losing an eye.

Anyway, the platform I got was this one:  Aerobics Step Platform   There are a few different brands that make this type of thing.  The one I got has worked great.  It also seems to stop me from scooting the platform forward too much on the floor.  When I did free step before getting the platform, I'd end up migrating about three feet.  By the time I was done, my nose would be practically touching the TV screen.  So this helps with that too if you tend to skid forward.

And, by the way... I hate that stupid voice on the free step that says "keep up with me"...  ARG.  I AM keeping up with you, crazypants!  If my rhythm is just barely off, she seems compelled to comment on it.   LOL!

Enjoy your Wii Fit... I guess it's kinds obvious from my rambling here that I definitely love it!
