Heart palpitations after eating
Hi There, i can remember having a racy pulse after eating . Remember that your body is adjusting to your new stomach so it may take a while. And although they say sleevers don't get dumping like those who have gastric bypass, dont believe them from my own experience i can remember introducing my body back to sugar ( i know i was bad bad bad) but it was my daughters birthday cake and i had not even a fork full of cake with icing at around 8 weeks post op to VSG and i had the most horrible experience at chucky cheese!!! LOL i was in the bathroom , sweating like crazy, racy heart beat, and loose bowels for about an hour. that was the biggest mistake i could have ever made plus i missed some of my daughters birthday party. I did lear a lesson that day. Just be careful what you eat and chew chew chew very slow.
Take care
It is normal if you ate this too fast. You may even have had some light headedness. For me this only has happened once and it was after drinking a 10 oz protein shake in about 15 minutes in my second week post op. Too much too fast. Heart palpitations, light headed, and then I had heartburn.
You may or may not have had heartburn depending on how much you ate and what you ate and whether or not it cleared your stomach before coming back up.
Also I had heart palpitations once on day 4 after surgery as I was moving around too fast and basically over did things a little. So perhaps you over did some things and it was a coincidence that it happened after eating something. I have no idea from your very short message how far out you are or what exactly stage 4 for you is or what you ate or drank before this has occurred otherwise I might be able to narrow things down a little bit.
So with the little info I have I would say you ate something too fast and it would be normal for this to happen but that is my best guess at your situation. Also on a side note. I am not a doctor and many on here are also not doctors. You are talking about your heart and it wouldn't be a crazy thing to contact your surgeon and go over this. He/She would likely ask some of the same questions. What did you eat? Did you chew it up well? Did you eat it too fast? Did you drink something at the same time you were eating something? How long after you ate did you feel this way? Was there something you were doing that may have been over doing it a bit? Are you still having these palpitations? How long did they last? I would think with this info you are more likely to get to the cause and the answer of whether or not this is normal as well as how to prevent this in the future.
Hope this helps.
