Need Breakfast ideas
Pretty much what Frisco said. They are just a glorified candy bar.
I can't just eat one. I think about them. They talk to me. I try to figure out how to make it to protein bar time without eating my arm off. It's a Gollum kind of obsession.
I gave up protein bars for awhile. Then I allowed them back in my life because I had a high-stress situation with my dad and step mom and I need easy protein. Then I got rid of them again. Then I got to 1 year post op and said **** it I want a damn treat and had protein bars because they weren't all that bad. Now I am rid of them again.
I've done some analyzing of my weight loss over the past year and they haven't seemed to slow my loss. But they take up a lot of my brain time.
They take over my thoughts. I find ways to justify them.
That's a trigger.
I should also add that I work out a lot and the workouts require a recovery protein. For awhile I used protein bars, but they just are too much like crack to me. I tried a new protein bar today that doesn't seem to trigger anything, but honestly, I want/need to stay away from protein bars completely until I get to maintenance. For me, maybe even forever.
Totally agree. I actually shuddered when my nutritionist mentioned I could keep some of those handy. Too much like snacky binge food to me, at least at this point.
Protein bars are glorified Candy Bars and should be thought of as a maintenance/emergency food.
And really...... Cereal is on a WL plan????
