depends on what you do, if you can lay in bed and work on a laptop probably only a few days , if you need to be active a week or 2, if you need to lift more than 10 lbs 6 weeks

I took 3 weeks full time off and one month on half time. It was great....coming to an end tomorrow. It wasn't because I felt tired or in pain, not at all. I felt great almost right away post op. It was great to ease me into my new lifestyle and food habits. It was really a time I used to take care of me. Plus my hubby was away and I had to do double driving of the kids....

I could've easily been back after two weeks but doc put me out for 3 cause of a large hiatal hernia repair. After 3 weeks I went back to him and had a stomach virus which kept me out another week.

6 weeks. The first week I felt fine but out of breath just walking in the store. I would get muscle cramps in my stomach but I was still fine. I felt like new after 2 weeks but then at week 3 I started falling asleep while driving, not being able to sleep, sleeping too much, etc. and I asked for more time off. I can't remember everything that was happening but I remember posting here and being very confused about what was happening to me. Oh yeah, my brain wasn't working too well at that point either.

I had surgery on a Friday and then took the following week off. I could have returned but I wanted the extra rest. -Larry

I had surgery on a Weds, was released from the hospital on Friday evening...
...and walked into work on Monday morning.

Granted, my boss did make me go home at noon that day.
He muttered something about me being stubborn...
I worked that afternoon from home...and was pretty much back at work full-time that week, with the exception of taking a couple of hours off to help out a family member.

Seriously, if I wasn't a crazy, OCD-type, I am sure I would have enjoyed some time away to recover....but I was climbing the walls after being stuck at home over the weekend!
