Newbie here
Hi there! I've known about this site for a while, but I only lurked. I figured since I now know my surgery date, I'd introduce myself.
My name is Laura. I'm from LA, but we're in GA due to my husband being in the military. I have 2 bright little girls and a stepson. I will be having my VSG done on the 10th of December. My starting weight (as of today) is 238.
I've done a lot of homework, but I'm sure it's going to be completely different with me. I'm a little nervous, but more excited than anything. I'll also be glad to get through this liquid diet phase. I'm on day 2, and I feel like I am starving to death. hahaha It should be worth it, though.
I'm not sure what else to put up here, so thanks for letting me ramble. :)
Hi Laura! I also found the preop diet to be very difficult. It was the hardest 14 days of my life! BUT I'm glad I stuck to the plan and got my liver in good shape, got a head start on my weight loss, and showed my surgeon that I was very serious about VSG (he wanted me to do RNY). Keep us posted on how you are doing and how surgery goes. You're gonna love your sleeve!!

Thanks everyone! I have a few friends here that have had the surgery. They told me the hunger should subside. I'm not so sure. I cut an apple up this morning for my toddler and almost cried because I couldn't have a bite. Ha! I have to have a sense of humor or else I really would cry. Best wishes to you all as well! It's nice to know I'm not alone in this. My inlaws are very much so against me doing this. All the more reason to push forwards, right?
I am a mess with all of my thoughts and emotions. I know this is what is right for me and am ready to just get it over with.
I have not started my pre-op diet yet, but I know when I do it is going to be miserable. It is all a means to an end. I can do anything for 7 days... I think.
Best of luck!
