I am totally confused over the 40-60 grams of protein daily on the first page of my NUTS print out

THEN on the SAMPLE MENU: Weeks 1 & 2 it changes to B, L, & D - 4-6 ozs. of thinned protein shake *May add one protein shake during the day* Snack: 2 TBSP Yogurt OR 2 TBSP of Cottage Cheese

This means the sample menu is WAY over the 40-60 GRAMS daily!! So which is it????

Could this be why I'm light headed & stumbling around???

HELP?????????

The grams are measuring the amount of protein in the food, not the weight of the food itself.  Try entering your food on a food tracker like www.fitday.com or www.myfitnesspal.com (that seems to be the favorite here) -- and you can see how many grams of protein that 2 tbs of cottage cheese or yogurt have.

There are X amounts of protein grams in each Y amounts of a shake.

Say you are using a shake that has 20 grams of protein in an 8 oz shake.  Another brand of shake may have 30 grams of protein in a 8 oz shake.

So your 4-6 oz of shake will have 10 to 15 grams of protein in the shake depending on the brand.  You need to read your shake to see how much protein is in it.  Read the label on each of your foods to see how much protein per serving.

So, on the sample menu they give you the VOLUME you are to have.  The first statement tells you how much protein you need in a day, not the food volume.

Does that help?
