2nd Stall - Frustration
I am just venting here. I have seen all the posts about stalls. My water level is high, I'm not in starvation mode and I'm getting enough protein. Its just a stall, but when you consume 600-800 calories a day and haven't seen the scale move in a week its a bit frustrating. I haven't been able to exercise this week which I am sure has contributed to the non-movement but it is just miserable seeing the same number come up on the scale every time. I am sure it will break this weekend some time, but I needed to vent. Having a bad day for a number of reasons, but this is one I can talk about here.
No replies necessary! I will get through it.
I feel ya. I've been at this a long time and KNOW the stalls are normal, but I'm TWO freaking pounds away from a HUGE milestone/goal and I'm stalled. *laughing*
Like you said, you KNOW it's normal (heck, I'm always telling people to chill out) but it starts to make you nuts when the damn scale STILL says 177 and you're eating... like nothing. It WILL move again. It has to. Right? LOL ;) xoxo

I'm in the same boat on the measurements and pics, I haven't done any for documenting the loss of weight and how I look now, I just keep forgetting, and then no camera around when I do think of it.. silly I know.
Sorry you're having a bad day, I hope it gets better. I haven't had a real stall yet, but I just keep waiting, on the other hand I think I'm a "slow" loser, although putting it in perspective.... 6 years ago, it took me almost 10 months to lose 60lbs. So far I've lost a little over 40 in 2 1/2 months (counting pre-op), so I guess that's not slow... but I was hoping to have lost more by now. I know a stall is going to happen, and hearing everyone else go through it it really helping me to prepare, but I know I'll freak out a little just the same when it happens.
Keep up the good work, you are doing a great job, you've come so far!!!
Hi Keith!
I'm preop but I have been through more weight loss attempts then I could probably count and I have hit stalls before. It's like it defies all science when you are over 200 or 250, you are eating less than 1000 calories and according to all the charts and facts and figures, you should be dropping weight!! I don't know how often you weigh but maybe take a mini break from the scale. Put your scale in time out since it won't cooperate and pull it back out in a couple of days or a week when you think it's ready to start acting right again. :-)
Good luck and enjoy your weekend. Thank you for your support on my venting post yesterday. Wanted to return the favor!

It's good to vent. I need to do it more often. I am currently on my 1st stall and have been so frustrated and angry. I know the weight loss will jump start again soon but I feel like I am failing in some ways. I have been exercising all week and eating appropriately I just don't know what else I can do except wait.
Hopefully our scales will start back up sooner rather than later.
The nice thing about my first stall is the scale dropped like a rock afterward. That was at 6 weeks post op. I had my surgery 8 weeks ago today so I wasn't expecting the next stall so soon. I have lost 70lbs so I guess it is not unrealistic that my body would have some catching up to do. Plus I understand fat cells store hormones so depending on when my current layer was created I could have had higher then normal levels of cortisol or other hormones. I have had periods of tremendous stress in my life and I suspect I am experiencing some of that.
