OT, but possibly "new wardrobe" connected so sorta on topic...

Who has a really nicely organized chest of drawers or dresser?  I have six drawers--all jumbled. They are sort of in categories, but that's about as organized as it gets.

I'm now going through and culling the stuff that is too big that has somehow missed getting culled before.  I'm staring at a sock/underwear drawer (for example) that is simply a deep drawer with socks (some in pairs, some missing mates) and underwear tossed in where I am constantly digging to find anything.

How do you do it? How to your organize this stuff?  How do you keep it neat?  Do you have gadgets and things you've bought at organizing stores? Do you just fold neatly and stack?

How do you do it?

I do both.  I fold everything as it comes out of the dryer and stack the items in the drawers.  Some items tend to scatter (socks, trouser hose, etc.) and those get put in containers set in the drawers.  The containers can be sturdy box bottoms, shoe boxes -- both cardboard and plastic.  I fold my scarves and place them in a container because they slide so easily.  I have one "junk drawer" where I put stuff that doesn't go with anything else.  I have 6 drawers and a center door that hides 3 additional small drawers.  Top left drawer gets panties and bras, middle left drawer gets nightgowns, bottom left gets scarves, gloves, hats (berets or other soft hats).  The right top drawer gets sweaters and shells, middle right gets shorts and capris, and bottom right gets my "junk".  The center top little drawer holds pantyhose, knee high hose, trouser socks, and regular socks, middle drawer gets small purses and wallets or change purses that I like to change up, and things of that nature, and the bottom center little drawer holds whatever doesn't go in the other drawers -- like a second "junk" drawer.

When we put the addition on the house, I was able to customize my closets, so there are shelves and drawers and two rods for hanging clothes.  I'm not particularly fussy about organization.  In fact, since I was put through "inspection" on a monthly basis for the condition of my dressers and closets when I was just a child, it's more habit than anything.

Getting clothes and other of our "girly" possessions organized is a matter of getting into habits that become second nature.

Hope this helps you some................good luck with whatever system you decide to use!

I'm lucky if I get the same categories in one drawer.  Trying to organize is my biggest frustration.  Sorry I couldn't help, just wanted you to know you are not alone.

LOL! I know what you mean.  I fold and stack my undies in one drawer, socks in another and scarves in another.  I bought these to keep my scarves in, but they would work great for socks, and two can be stacked.  But they do work better for shallow drawers, I think.

Good luck -- some days I feel like it's a never ending battle!

I am not an organized person. In fact I have 4 dressers and they have clothes in them but I have no idea really what is there til I open them. And the most worn ends up staying in the laundry room either hanging up on the shelf or on the deep freeze. I have a sock pile a shirt pile and a jeans pile. The underwear is somewhere in all of that. Horribly I know and my youngest sister is the same way except her "dresser" is her bed.

My middle sister on the other hand is completely organized with everything in it's place. I don't know how she lives like that. ;-)
