Anthem Insurance 1 Surgery Per Lifetime Limit

Hi,

I am looking into a revision but found out that my insurance as a 1 bariatric surgery per life limit.  Anyone have this and fight it successfully?  Curious to know if it is a dead end or something that could be worked with. 

It is always worth fighting and there are several studies out these days showing how much less successful lap band is. With most surgeons currently refusing to put bands in i would fight it with the point that it is a surgery that has been discredited and the revision is just completing the original procedure left incomplete by band.

I agree..fight it.  They have something here where people can help you with that or try your health commissioner and see if you can do anything there.  I've never heard of a 1 wls limit per lifetime.  Considering how much the band has been showing it as a failure...I hope you can get an approval.  Best of luck to you.

If it is through your job then it may have been your employers choice. Find out who you need to fight with first. No point in fighting the insurance company if it wasn't even their choice.
