OT: The fun stuff--new clothes, advice needed!
I was pondering which black blazer/jacket to buy, because I always love to have one to wear over jeans to dress them up, and my two old ones don't fit. (Yay!)
And suddenly it hit me--yes, I do want a black blazer eventually but my primary reason for it is gone.
To hide my bulges under.
Wow.
So, instead, I bought a pair of opaque black tights and a black pencil skirt to show off my shapely legs.

A pencil skirt.
Show off.

Last spring with my round apple shape, I never dreamed that mere months later I'd be wearing pencil skirts.
They are winging their way to me, and I already have the cute black booties.
So, what do I wear on top?
Help a girl out!
Forgot to say--I do not have a waist and hips. I never did. So nothing nipped in unless it provides the illusion of a waist rather than requires a waist to look good.
Ooh! Congrats! I've got the thick British-heritage kind of legs and thick thighs (always have!) and would love to wear pencil skirts...but alas, I'm too damn shy for that. With a pencil skirt and tights, I would add a cowl-neck sweater, as the neckline helps to elongate the mid-section...plus I would then accessorize with a long silver or gold necklace. Here's a good example, plus it's sparkly! http://www.kohls.com/product/prd-1185830/dana-buchman-lurex- cowlneck-sweater.jsp
Another good option (and my staple nowadays) is an open, swingy cardigan: http://www.kohls.com/upgrade/webstore/product_page.jsp?PRODU CT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524892978264&crosssell=true I love these because you can layer like crazy and again, it gives an illusion of a longer midsection.
Happy shopping!
