Update
Well, I went in wed. for my CT to see if I truly have a leak that caused the abscess. It is a very small leak so I am going back in a week to have it rechecked. Was on my way out feeling good that there was an end in sight. All of a sudden I started getting these stabbing pains and couldn't breathe. Turns out that this can happen, the dye irritates the lungs and tissue around that area. I ended up being brought to a room and given pain meds. They didn't know how long this would take to go away because it doesn't happen often. Well, today is sat. and I am starting to turn the corner. Kinda scared for my appt next week if this is what happens when I have the dye injected. Praying it won't happen again and the drain will come out.
trying to keep my chin up. On top of all of this I am behind at work because I have missed so much, I start college on Monday, first time going to school in 22 years, and I was offered another job that they want me to start asap. So much to think about, not all bad though! God give me strenght!
Sending hugs and prayers your way! I've always said that life changing events never happen in little increments enabling me to deal with them -- they all happen at once! At least, after all of these things get resolved, maybe you can have some "down" time!
Congrats on going back to school, and on getting a new job! So sorry about the rest of it!
Take care, and keep us posted!
Amen to your prayer.

Hi there,
I went home with left shoulder pain and it was passed off as gas. I went through weeks going to my primary physician and local ER with left shoulder pain...Knife cutting pain in my left lung...fever bytimes because I was always on pain meds. Finally Oct/13/08 I went to a different ER and the amazing ER doc gave me a CT scan finally, I was on my deaths bed, I felt!!....I was sent back to the city hospital where I was operated on. I had a bunch of abscesses and sepsis set in. 5 different surgeries and still nothing worked to close it up..After the three months of tube feeds, TPN and JP drains and wound vacs, I was sent home. 4 months later is when I moved away and needed the last JP drain removed. I got a new primary doctor here and we did ok together. After I got my GERD under contol. She ordered a barium swallow test in the spring of 2010 and no leak showed!! I was healed!!!
Hugs
