Do you ever forget?

Do you ever forget that you've had the surgery? I often wake up in the middle of the night, whether to tend to the kids or bathroom time. I ALWAYS have something to drink near me, but I never seem to remember that my stomach isn't normal anymore. Yup. I gulp, I hurt, I smack myself. Everything is fine during the day, but in the wee morning hours, my brain still hasn't come to terms with the fact that I can't do that anymore.

lol That's what I tell my husband all the time. When I get depressed he reminds me that this is what it is taking to get myself healthy, and to basically suck it up and shut up about it. lol I know I'll get back to being normal again down the road, but at 3:00 in the morning, that pain sure does suck.

You are not alone! I tend to remember mid gulp and end up holding a mouth full of liquid for a minute waiting for the rest of it to get through my stomach - crazy and I am sure I look ridiculous but it does usually prevent the pain : )

It really gets easier -- while I was reading OH on a break, I drank a 33.8 oz bottle of water.  I really can drink a lot and gulp too!!

I forgot that I couldn't gulp water just a few days ago.  I took down three gulps and nothing happened...just freaked me out a bit.
