Wow, you are in a tough place. I feel for you. It's not an easy place to be. I had some similar issues during my losing phase and on occasion, still do.

I'm going out on a limb and going to say that your hunger sounds a lot like the hunger I had that surfaced sometime around 4 or 5 months for me. Horrible, gut wrenching rumbling and gurgling and empty feeling in my gut. I knew, knew, this was real hunger. I****ing about an hour after I ate and would just nag me until I ate again. I struggled with this, but never really gave in. I talked with my doc and was immediately prescribed a new PPI. Did the trick. I still feel that same hunger sensation sometimes, but deal with it better.

Water! Drink tons and tons of water. You're five months out. You don't need to sip like a dainty old lady any longer. You should be able to down 16 oz in an hour. My goal is pretty much 8 oz each hour from 7 to 5. I get in 80 oz that way and then usually more on work out days. Really helps with the hunger. I don't know, maybe water helps keep the acid at bay, too. Who knows. Bu****er does work for me.

Yes, capacity seems to increase somewhere around the 6 month mark. Happened to me. You just deal with it. But if you want to make the most of the sleeve you got, you've got to get those calories down to a good WL intake.

I think you also have to bite down hard and not give into the hunger. You don't have to eat now. End of subject. You have a lot of extra weight to still live off of, so no, you don't need to eat at that very moment. Keep reminding yourself of that. Over and over again.

A great big part of this whole sleeve journey is dealing with head issues. While I do not discount in any way that you have a physical thing going on - it's clear you do -  you don't have to give in to it. It's okay to be hungry. People are hungry all the time. You're not starving, just hungry. Hunger is not an emergency! We just always thought it was.

I sincerely hope you get this resolved soon. I hear how frustrated you are and it's understandable. In the meantime, just buck up as best you can. Get those calories in control and get your head in control. Good luck!

Omg Kairk, you've described my hunger to a T! Omg! And yes I am grappling with the concept of hunger is not an emergency...I'm not starving LOL! I'm working with my counselor to get a better understanding and handle on that. Right now this hunger is so horrible that I don't know how to begin to control it.
The recurring theme is water and more water....so this dainty old lady has to step up her game, lol!
Thank your so much!

Drink at least 12 cups of water per day. Seriously. If you feel hungry, drink a bottle of water and wait 20 minutes.

How many carbs are you eating right now? Carbs make me feel hungry if I go over 50 or so. I love my carbs, but they don't love me and I turn into a crazed snack monster. I have to detox from them if I get too many and it's 3 days of ickiness, hunger, just plain bad. If you can go really low carb for a few days, see if that abates it.

Admittedly, I'm pretty lucky in that my true hunger has never returned. The carb hunger comes back if I eat too many carbs and sometimes I have a weird acid thing and I take something for it. Bu****er... lots and lots of water. (I so want to go all Dory from Finding Nemo but you guys already think I'm a freak LOL)

Hi Candy-girl!
Before this new hunger monster I was about 30 carbs per day..sometimes right at 40. But now I've been we'll over 75...

Increasing the water is definitely priority #1.

Thank you for always being a cheerleader!

You've gotten really good advice, sounds like you have a plan... more water, back off the carbs and increase your or change your PPI.

YOU CAN DO THIS.

It's hard work, we know... but we know you'll get through it. This is just one little step in the journey.

I am right there with you !!  5 1/2 months out and My problem started since the holidays and I found out that i can eat things and not get sick ... now I munch here and there not a lot but how do you track 5 chips and one piece of chocolate,  and 10 grapes ect ect ect.....    however mine isnt a hunger issue really its more head hunger,  when I am bored I find that I want to snack between meals even though I really feel full.. so I feel what your saying I  didnt pay 20 grand to not loose all this weight....    your not alone many of us are having similar issues.... it seems like we know what we are doing wrong but its hard to get a handle on it....

we can do this !!!  I started today back to the basics and that seemed to help me even though I wanted to snack I didnt and I drank some water.

I know what you are talking about.  I agree with most of the posts, you need to make sure you are drinking enough.  Look into the PPI issue.  What I found was that after the holidays when I became somewhat lax in my focus on food, the hunger returned.  The days I cheat and don't focus as much on protein are the days I feel the hunger monkeys pulling my hair, jumping on my back and kicking me in the back of my knees! LOL.... Refocus your attention on PROTEIN!!!! Go back to basics, you can go a few weeks without the carbs.  It sucks but if you want it you will do it.  You know what you need to do you just have to get your head back in the game! Good luck sweetie! :)
