Sample daily menues - help?!

I'm soooo excited to be starting "pureed/minced" phase on my diet plan (had VSG on Jan 8th), and am wondering if there are some folks out there that could give me a few examples of a daily menu plan to help me out.  I'm not all that creative, and can't wait to start having some meat!!!

As well as full fluids (ie protein shakes, cottage cheese, yogurt, blended soups), I am now allowed to have:

pureed meats - chicken, turkey, lean ground beef, fish

pureed vegetables

poached eggs, soft low fat cheeses

soda crackers, melba toast, mashed potatoes/sweet potatoes

In keeping with low carb/high protein, I'd love to see some daily menu plan ideas of what this would look like.

Thanks for your input!

Check out Elaina_7's Green Chick Soup (its on her blog page on the OH site). That stuff is really good. I also liked pureed beef stew over mashed potatoes.

I didnt even try any puree'd meats.

I only ate yogurt and cottage cheese during this phase...the thought of pureed meats was not appealing.

Good luck!!!!  A bunch of us are on myfitnesspal and you can see our menus.  My screen name is wildcatnyc.

I lived off tuna, scrambled egg and pureed chili. I found it very hard to keep my protein high and at 2 years out I still struggle with it. But I know I wouldn't have survived with those foods. Sometimes I also added cheese but for me it was very much stick to what worked.

Good Luck.

I basically stuck to the full liquids and added some of the purees each day. I started with egg (not the best choice for me - gave me horrible reflux, but now I'm fine with eggs-love them!), then a little chicken salad, and then tuna salad.

I'm not a big advocate of the mashed potatoes, crackers, etc.... so I'd recommend just eating your purees with a spoon. Little teeny tiny bits at a time. I could only really manage about 2 TBS at a time. I figured there was no reason to waste the precious room food with little, if any, nutritional value.

I wasn't allowed meat or fish until I was cleared for all foods starting day 31, so my mushy stage consisted of yogurt, beans, lentils, soft cheese, yogurt, oatmeal, slightly overcooked, well chewed veg, more yogurt...

My first "meat" was baked salmon, which if chewed really well could be called a purée. The tiny tins of salmon and tuna salad also worked well for me. I'm up to an entire wee tin now - at first I did well to eat 1/2 a tin.

hmm..ok.., I guess I was hoping someone could give me a full overview of a sample of their daily menu around this point?  I don't know if I can handle too much more yogurt - I am sooo sick of it.  I am hoping that eggs go down well, and I'm hoping that the tuna/salmon and other pureed meats go down well too.

Anyone have any sample "daily meal plans" for this stage of the game?

Appreciate your help.

Ah! Ok, here's roughly what I ate at that point:
Breakfast: instant oatmeal with unflavoured whey mixed in (I could eat 1/2 a serving, but it needed to be kinda soupy)
Lunch: 1/4 cup baked beans chewed to death (heaven after all the sweet stuff!)
Snack: sf pudding with unflavoured whey mixed in
Supper: 1 ounce baked salmon, 1 tablespoon of slightly overcooked green beans chewed to death
Snack: sf jello with (yup, you guessed it!) unflavoured whey mixed in

I was fanatical about getting in my protein, so mixed unflavoured whey into pretty much everything, including broth, coffee and my bottles of sf Hawaiian Punch. (It was nasty in my broth - just fine everywhere else)

Breakfast:  1 scrambled egg with 1 slice of no fat cheese mixed in...I did this in microwave because they were fluffier...lol

Lunch:  Protein Drink (Meal Replacement)

Supper:  Cottage Cheese and Chicken or Tuna from the can (not very much though)

Snack X2 - sugar free  fudgsicle

Thanks Lynn - about how much protein would you say that menu gave you for the day?  And when you say not much of the supper items (cottage cheese, chick/tuna from can) - "about" how much is that?  Also, is it typical for you to use a protein drink daily?

Thanks!
