I've lost 39 lbs. I told my husband I think it's time to shop for some new clothes. Went from a tight 16 or loose 18. Going to try a 14. I feel that's major. Moving from the fat lady sections. I just got a sales circular for Lane Bryant. Threw that sucker in the garbage!  Woohoo! I usually don't buy cheap clothes but on this journey I may until I get where I want to be.

before surgery i lost 70lbs i was fitting tightly into a 26, i went down to a tight 22, but a comfortable 24...gained 20lbs, lost the 20lbs and still in the 24.

had surgery

lost 20lbs

Still in the 24's

I'm very pear/hourglass shaped and i've been losing it all in my abdomen right now....i think its just a body style thing, some people are top heavy, some people (like myself, are bottom heavy) and some seem to lose it all over.

I'm apple shaped and 5'7. It took 50 lbs to go from a 24 to a 22. The bigger the sizes the more weight you have to lose to go down a size. Once I got to 14 misses the size drops in about 15 lbs. It can get frustrating. Just hang in there! It will happen. It has taken 9 months (started at over 300 lbs) but I am wearing 8/10's.

Hey all, THANK YOU. your posts really gave me exact info I was looking for.  Im 5'2 and 165 now.  Ive lost 25 pounds and like most my 16's are fitting looser but not down to a 14 yet.  So when you are bigger it takes more weight lost to drop sizes.  As you drop more weight the sizes melt away faster.

Also I did not have any surgery but am taking a pre diabitic med. Call it my wonder drug.

I went from a VERY tight 38W to a loose 36 waist after loosing 15 pounds.

But I have to qualify that to explain that I'm doing a LOT of weight training in addition to calorie restriction, so my weight fluctuates. But I've lost a solid 15 pounds by now - meaning it rarely goes more than 2 pounds over my current weight and sometimes under.

Weight training has slowed down the weight loss, but it has sped up the loss in inches. I lost a full inch and a half around the waist before I saw five pounds off the scale consistently.
