so i'm trying to figure how many pounds will it take to get down one pant size?

i know it's different based on body size but is there a general rule that anyone knows of?

i'm thinking 15-20 pounds

I've lost 25 lbs and still in the same pant size.  They are looser than before, but I'm still in them. I think in 5 more pounds I could comfortably go down a size.  Last time I lost a lot of weight I noticed when I got in to the 100s I was going down a pant size every 10-15 lbs.  But while I'm in the 200s, and a size 22 still, it seems to take about 25-40 lbs to go down a size.

yeah? i'm in an 18 or a 20 and 223 lbs depending on the brand and had already lost 25 lbs on my own since March and am still in the same pants, like you, they are a little big but not ready for anything smaller.

I'm just so darn anxious!!

I was down 36 pounds total at my surgeon on Wednesday. I am down 1 size from a VERY tight 20W to a very comfortable 18W. I have been wearing the 1 size down for 2 weeks and when I noticed I could wear them I was down around 28 pounds. It feels good to get into clothes in my closet I haven't worn in awhile. Good luck to you!

Everyone is different. There is no set number. However, here are my stats: 72lbs lost got me from a size 30 jeans to a size 22 jeans.

I'll second this:  everyone's body is different.

A year ago, before I even seriously considered surgery, I lost 90 pounds and only went down 2 pants sizes from a 32 to a 28.  I suppose it depends on your frame, and where you're losing your weight (is it your belly, your hips, thighs, etc).

It took me 55 pounds to drop from a VERY tight 20(sometimes 22) to an 18.  I tried on a pair of 17's at Walmart the other day just to see if I was ready for a 16...and they fit! I've lost another 8 pounds since I tried them so maybe I'm closer to the 16.   That's going to be something to celebrate about.  I have not been a size 16 in my adult life!!

It definitely depends on the person. I have lost 50 lbs and have gone down ONE pant size! SO FRUSTRATING!! BUT I can say that all of my shirts are loose and very long. I think I'm losing a lot in the boobs and stomach!

The larger sizes seem to accommodate a wider range of weight.   From what I hear from everyone, once you get down some, the sizes zip by.

I started out at 350 wearing a tight size 24 and now I am 249 wearing an 18 I am also tall for a female but the bigger you are the longer it takes to get down a pants size but the smaller the size the less it takes.
