So I've got a hot date with my girlfriends on Friday and a REALLY hot date with the hubby on Saturday. Hubby and I haven't been on a date in over a year due to deployments and not really trusting anyone to babysit the girls. (Bad history where my oldest was assaulted.) We're biting the bullet and letting one of our friends watch the girls so we can have some time alone that doesn't involve Sponge Bob or Little Einsteins. lol

My only problem is buying new clothes. I don't have anything that fits me properly anymore. I REFUSE to shop at Lane Bryant anymore. (Seriously?? $60 for a top?? Get outta here!) I want to look sexy but respectable when I go out. I know the typical mall stores don't carry anything bigger than a size large. Thanks to the knockers, I'm in an XL. Does anyone know of stores that won't make me look old (no offense to anyone!), but won't make me look like I'm working the corner either? Thanks!

The few places that come to my mind are Fred Meyers, Kohl's, JCP, Gordman's, WalMart, ShopKo.  I have found cute stuff at all of the above stores as i lost.  Good luck and have fun.

Macy's has nice clothes that wouldn't make you look.  I don't know if you have an Ashley Stewart store near you but they also carry clothes sizes 14 to 28.  I like the clothes at Ashley Stewart.

Have a great time, enjoy yourself with your husband.

Cindy

Thank you! I've never been a big shopper. I would run through Walmart, grab a pair of my usual pants or tops, and get out. Now that I'm losing, my body doesn't look good in the same stuff I used to wear.

I find cute dresses and other items at Gabriel brothers. Also could check Marshall's too.

Believe it or not, I LOVE the Goodwill!! I actually wrote a whole blog about it. Because being in an XL now I have been able to find some really cute things. I got a ton of tops, Express, Forever 21, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein etc.. My two favorite favorite pair of jeans, from Goodwill…….. You will be surprised what people throw away, and granted its not all about the labels, because when I mostly purchased the items I just thought they were cute. It wasn’t until I got home and started pulling off tags did I realize the brands! Go Treasure hunting it’s also a lot a fun when you get good finds, like my most recent Authentic Fossil Watch for $4, a dress for 8$ that I saw on sale at Target for $30!

Good Luck!!

I'm cheap and refuse to buy new cloths in the losing stages.

We have a bunch of thrift shops in my area and I will hit them up looking for cute outfits.  You don't always find something but it's like shopping all the stores listed above in one spot.  I have found a lot of really nice, name brand, tags still on cloths (just found a Cold Water Creek wool jacket with tags 129.00 for 8.98).  I also send my too big cloths back to the thrift shops.

What size are you in now?  You should come over and shop in the "skinny" side of my closet :). Also...have you been to Uptown Cheapskate?  They have a TON of cute name brand clothes....for cheap!
