Bring out the scale....

My daughter's 2nd birthday party was yesterday and I gave into the carb temptation. I admit it. I messed up. My willpower needs some refining. I ate things that I shouldn't. Didn't even bother to track. But I am back on the path this morning.

That said... I saw many people whom I had not seen in a few months. They were amazed  by my loss so far. Since they are extended family, they have no issues straight out asking "how much have you lost? because you don't need to lose anymore" When I replied that I had lost about 68lbs and need to lose another 50lbs, they told me "there is no way that you still need to lose that much. Go get your scale. There is no way that you are almost 200lbs. You look like you are weighing 130. Your scale must be broken. "

I was so amused and flattered that I went to get my scale. So numerous people who were around took the opportunity to weigh themselves in front of other people as a way to put into perspective my weight loss. Something so personal, they wanted to share with me just so they could understand my journey. It really made me feel loved.  I never thought that my new life would include breaking out my scale at a kid's birthday party but hey my sleeve has made me a different person so I really shouldn't be surprised.

They made it seem like stepping on a scale was part of the fun.  kiss

Or maybe I just have a weird family!

Everyone's family is weird. "Weird" is from old Greek and it means "family".....okay maybe not

Sounds like you have a very supportive family and the party was fun.

Sounds great about your family weighing themselves with you.  lol

Actually I'm wrong.  I lost 3 lbs even.  (I had forgotten what I was cause my scale is 2 lbs off.)  When I went to adjust my ticker I realized it was 3 lbs down since last week.  What a good thing to be wrong about!  lol

That is so awesome!  I still can't believe I have a ticker with my weight at the bottom of my posts...lol.  I've been lying about my weight/avoiding talking about the #'s since...um, well, forever!  Love that your family jumped on the scale like that.
