Pre-op weight loss
Follow your nutritionist's advice. You still have some time to start slow but I would start changing your diet now. Start eating a high protein, low carb diet. You will not be able to reduce your calories as much as we do but if you start cutting the carbs now, then it will be easier later. Also if you are drinking a lot of caffeine, soda, etc then be prepared for some withdrawals from the caffeine. I was a heavy soda drinker before surgery so that is something that you would want to get off of now.
It is really hard to lose prior to surgery compared to after surgery, but it is so worth it! Just don't quit trying! I think the hardest habit for me to break (STILL working on it) is not drinking 30 minutes prior and after eating. Chew slowly. Try to detox from caffeine now, break the soda habit now.... less to have to adjust to post op. (Decaf coffee is ok.) Educate yourself on the postop diet plan and prepare for that. Good luck!
