NSV--size 14 and a question for the ladies.
Yesterday I finally went to Old Navy to use some gift cards I'd been hanging onto for that moment when I REALLY needed to restock on basics. I knew that moment had arrived when all my shirts were too small, lol. For some reason I expected I'd just need new pants and could continue to wear the same size shirt??
I started this journey in a size 24 or 22 pants and size 20/22 shirts. Yesterday I bought 2 pairs of size 14 shorts from Old Navy. I was astounded. A friend (who used to work at Nordstrom) had told me that my shorts (size 16) were too big this past weekend but I thought she was crazy. I guess she was right! Also brought home a lot of basic size L t-shirts, so I should be good for a summer of chasing the kids around the park. I'm both looking forward to and dreading having to put together a quasi-professional wardrobe when school starts in August. If I'm at goal, maybe I'll shop in "real" stores. If not, it will be thrift stores and wherever I have gift cards.
I am looking forward to getting to goal and feeling "settled" enough to invest in some quality clothing!
Now, my question: I need good sports bras. Where can I get ones that actually support/hold in the girls that don't break the bank???
Are you asking about a good sports bra for high impact workouts? I've actually gotten cute colorful sport bras from Target & I pair them up with matching sport tanks that are kinda compression style so they work "double" at keeping things in place. I got them in dark pink & purple!!!
BTW, congrats on the cool NSV's!!!!

WWBD?
Yes! I am tired of either having massive bounce or needing to hold my boobs like an idiot (I don't do this in public) when doing jumping jacks, etc. I will check out Target. I hate to spend the $$$ on a good bra that won't fit for long. I think pairing the bra with the tank might be the right thing (plus I now have extra skin bouncing in the tummy area, and it kind of hurts). Thanks for your suggestion!!!
I hold my boobs in public and I don't apologize for it! haha Whenever I do kickboxing, I have to hold my arms against those pups during jumping jacks, high knees, butt kickers, basically anything that requires standing and jumping. I really need a new sports bra myself!

You do you, and I'll do me
Kohl's carries a nice Champion brand for high impact sports. I loved it and almost bought it to wear all the time, it was so supportive and comfortable. I didn't get it, ended up finding a couple Bali bras at a thrift store brand new in my new size for $5.00 for one and 99 cents for the other. But when I start to run, or attempt to, I will get that one I liked at Kohl's. You will understand when I say, it had good back fat/skin support too. ha!

“Not many of us are living at our best. We linger in the lowlands because we are afraid to climb the mountains. The steepness and ruggedness dismay us, and so we stay in the misty valleys and do not learn the mystery of the hills. We do not know what we lose in our self indulgence. What glory awaits us if only we had the courage for the mountain climb. What blessing we should find if only we would move to the uplands of God.? JRM
YES! I love the champion brand sports bras from Kohl's WITH cups! They are great and I need to get more in a smaller size!

They aren't cheap, but the the Moving Comfort Maia bra will seriously transform your life. I used to wear a 42 DD, and am now a 36 DD and I'm telling you, my boobs don't budge! I am a high impact runner too. I gave my old bras to my running buddy and she to could not believe the difference...she used to double up on the champion ones to keep them in place.
