Saw my surgeon today
Well, at least my NEW surgeon. He doesn't think I have an ulcer, but he wants me to continue on my Nexium. He said if it's helping, might as well stick to it. He is worried about a hernia, though. I have to go in for blood work and have a contrast CT scan done. He's also having me do the barium shake. Yuuuummmm...blech! lol He told me a hernia could be the cause for the constipation and pains I've been having. So we shall see how this goes.
Also, he said he's glad I didn't take that array of antibiotics the hospital prescribed when I went in for a ruptured cyst. He said they wrote down that I had Pelvic Inflammatory Disease. Not a UTI, not a ruptured ovarian cyst. He asked what the hell were they thinking. I told him I didn't know, but they were all CHAMPIONS! hahaha
They also said my BMI is somewhere around 28 now (I'm wearing about 4 lbs worth of clothes and shoes today.), where I had started at almost a 40. The bariatric nurse, that I've always despised, told me that I am a walking talking success story for the sleeve. That I am not a typical weight loss patient at 4 months post op. *Insert **** eating grin and big head* She asked if I had been tracking and eating what I'm supposed to. I told her that I do occasionally "cheat", but it's about learning moderation. I also told her that I am one pound from their goal, but I am going to see what looks good on me. She told me that she's so happy to hear that I'm being realistic about all of this. That so many people get fixed on a number, and once they get there, it's like they've lost too much to look good or even healthy.
All in all, it's been a very busy day. I also had my botox injections done. Never thought I'd be so happy to have needles in my head and back. lol I'm getting there, folks. I'm getting there. I also haven't completely quit smoking, yet. I did break down and had 3 yesterday. I've had 1 today. I'm getting a little better everyday. :) I can do this!!
Thank you! I have noticed a bit of a difference in the acne outbreaks and the amount of cysts I have. Instead of a rupture once a month, I only get them every couple of months. I still have the man beard and sometimes my periods are really heavy, that hasn't happened too often though. I know the surgery also increases fertility, but because we're done having kids, we both had the snip treatment.
Great Job kicking that BMI's ASS!!!
As far as the hospital diagnosis...I tell ya...being a nurse, it's scary how many folks are prescribing and diagnosing who don't really know what the are doing and just pull stuff out of their butt!! So glad you found someone you can trust!!!
Sound like you're walking on sunshine ! Yay!!!
Peace Laura!
