Home from the Hospital
Hi All,
Thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers. I had my surgery on Wednesday morning, and was able to come home last night (Thursday). The surgery went off without a hitch. The pain was minimal, although there is a nagging discomfort that is getting old. I may give in and take some pain meds. I had almost no nausea. Fluids are going down just fine - as long as I sip. I took a gulp of water in the middle of the night, not thinking, and that was not pleasant.
So I am sip, sip, sipping and walk, walk, walking. The bottomn line is that it was much easier than I expected, and I'm glad to be in the healing process now.
Again, thank you all for being here and sharing your experiences. I look forward to sharing success stories with you all.
blessings,
Carol

No harm in taking the pain meds, in fact you really should. Your body is in a lot of stress right now, even if you don't think so, and the pain meds help it calm down and begin to heal. It also helps to calm down your stomach which is doing back flips right now because of all the nerve damage.
Don't be a hero, there is no honor is going without pain meds. Take them, take your naps, enjoy the high like you are living in Colorado and begin to heal.
Good luck.
