"Milestones"
I'm sure I'm not the only person who does this. I've been creating "milestones" in my weight loss based on my personal history. First was my pre-pregnancy weight. Then it was the weight I was when I got married. Then ONEderland. Then the weight I was when I met my husband (hit that today, yay!). Next is high school graduation, to be followed by being "overweight" instead of obese and then beginning high school and/or goal (depending on where my goal ends up being).
So, I was just curious--do you all do this? How did you determine your "milestones?"
Mine, btw, are nowhere near being evenly spaced out. Well, the first 3 were, but I have about 10 lbs to high school weight and then another 10 to being merely overweight, and then 30 to beginning high school and another 5 if my goal stays at 130. I am only 5'3", so 130 is not crazy skinny, but I'd have a healthy BMI anywhere between 104-141.
Gosh Sara, I guess I create mine much the same. I am considerably older but I still use the same ones plus a couple of others. I have my H.S. graduation weight of 110, my weight when I delivered my first child, (132 pounds, 32 inch waist and 35 inch hips) weight I got down to after our fourth child, 112, the weight I jumped to a few years later of an obese on me of 132, and up from there. 12 years ago I dieted down to 148 from 214, then my pre surgery weight of 212.8. We need those milestones to check ourselves by. They encourage us, they remind us of where we came from, and they let us see where we are making progress and where we are going.
You are doing a great job, keep it up.
Oh, BTW, I may be nearly to my pre delivery weight of our first but my waist measurement is still larger. Ah, well, the years aren't always kind but I figure I still look pretty good for an old broad.
I have my own milestones too. My first one will be the weight I was when I started the WLS journey. Next will be my delivery weight for my second child. Then, the weight I was after being on NutriSystem. Then, 150, which is going to be my absolute "ceiling" weight for the rest of my life. Then, my HS weight, then my wedding weight. By the way, until I reach the weight I was when my WLS journey began, I don't feel like I have actually started yet (like when you tare scales to not count a container or something you don't want to actually weigh.)
