Hi everyone!  I'm nearly 2 1/2 years post-op.  Had an unexpected (but very welcomed) pregnancy at age 40.  Took the "you must add more carbs to your diet" thing overboard!  Gained 41 pounds with the pregnancy.  Cecilia is now 3 months old and I still have approx 18 pounds to lose.  Ugh!  This has been very difficult for me.  I'm hungry all the time (breastfeeding has something to do with it).  This feels as hard to me as it was before VSG.  So frustrating!  Wish I had that "super tiny one egg and your full" stomach again.  Thanks for listening...

Whew! I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE

18 months out. Total wt loss 140lbs with regain of 14lbs, NOT OKAY!   Lots of distractions in life, struggles and disappointments. The sense of accomplishment must return, this is a new opportunity to learn. I want to regroup and take on this new challenge!  Any suggestions for the next best step?  My thoughts of course are the practical.... Re-establish the work out routine, honest/detailed food journal and add something new I haven't thought of. I like the feel of feeling healthy and energetic :) Thanks for the time and encouragement.

I'm 5 1/2 years out and hav eput on 20lbs! It sucks!! I've been cleaning up my food and actually I've been exercising. Goes to show you how much I've been grazing & getting extra calories.

I can't STAND that my clothes are too tight & I refuse to buy new bigger sizes. Can't believe I even had to say that.

I've really slipped but I know the VSG is still a working tool. Just have to work it everyday.

I'd love to post with you all on this subject. I think it could really help.

Thanks for posting this page!

Is there a sleeve maintenance forum/group?  When I was banded, there was a band grad group (still is sorta but, with so many losing there bands...)  That way the you don't get lost like a thread.  I will be looking for you guys when I get there.  The DD is 2.5 years with her sleeve, gained the 20 pound rebound and is working like heck to keep it from becoming more.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

I'm 4.5 months out and feeling a lot of the same things. I'm struggling really hard here and not succeeding very well. I have plateaued for the last month.  I live in a family that eats TONS of carbs and I feel seriously deprived when I see all of this food on the table. This morning I woke up and realized the scale has gone up 4 pounds. I had a moment, then was like "I'm NEVER going back to where I was." I have almost no support here and have a ton of stress including a very short notice military move coming up. I fell off the wagon and am seriously struggling to get back on. I'm feeling depressed and hopeless and hardly work out or track my food with my crazy busy schedule. Good news in all of it, is that I have a friend who loves where I'm moving that had bypass 3 years ago and has maintained keeping her weight off. She has invited me to attend her support group meetings, so I'm looking forward to that. I'm going to do the liquid diet to jump start me again. Any other suggestions??
