Tired of answering questions that could simply be Googled?

I guess I look at it like this...most folks that post here are looking for community support and realize that they can indeed Google their question.  Being someone with little to no support at home means I rely on this board for encouragement, wisdom, and good news.  And sometimes I may not have anything to say but want to be part of a conversation, so might post a question I can easily find elsewhere just to connect with people.  Make sense?  There's often a deeper meaning to what people say.

Excellent incite!  I definitely believe this to be true.

Just like learning through conversation from an experienced person is so much nicer than checking out a book at the library about the subject.

Awesome response!

Ive been on this board for over 5 years...I never get tired of replying to a just post op question. There's nothin more personal than a personal reply to a question.  I do like the idea of teach a man to fish too...and will direct em to the OH search feature and enter...VSG first & topic for more info ..not google tho.

Annie I think used to post for new VSGrs the wordpress VSG FAQ like twice a month before. Its a VSG member discussion of frequently asked questions. It was great ..just to see someone POST THEM FAQs...don't hardly see it posted anymore here.

I get what your saying Anti...I get annoyed too especially

I get sick of the posts scaring new VSGrs...'your doomed to fail-bougie too big, 1 slip up, eating all wrong, do it my way/my surgeons way or the highway, vets that are better dieters-cliquish high school dominance/divisiveness of this board.  i.e. one gal HappieGirl  this month posted her amazing weightloss before n afters...3  people maybe replied. An OLD vet here posted some poseur pictures got ~25 replies? wtf?  so high school the "in crowd" , makes me wanna  devil

Anti....nothin wrong with ya *****in...just clickish!!...its ok when "certain" vets ***** n moan about new VSGrs stoopid to them questions...but unless your part of the incrowd...there will be HELL to PAY! As youve found out

Okay folks, no one PISSED IN MY CORNFLAKES, until someone called me rude, called me MADAME and told me that I didn't own this website....

I do find it amusing that none of these people being RUDE to me would DARE  to post such rude or condescending remarks on a "popular vet" post complaining about someone asking the same questions  or posting about "loosing weight forever" -- i can find MANY of these such posts where the social cowards even chime in, but want to be brazen enough to be rude to me when I suggest that a grown adult learn how to google something for themselves, and show you a sarcastic way to make a point.

...I'll take all the above! Thanks so much for your interest (read-not support, but who am I to name-call, right?)  Until you learn that support isn't always unicorns and rainbows, you'll be enabling.

That said, my original post was a little bit of sarcasm at something I find frustrating, and sharing a website. Minor sarcastic vent which was very obviously taken the wrong way -- and continues to be taken out of context even after I removed the original posting (so those that posted after I removed it, yeah, thanks for your indignation anyway!)

Google doesn't give personal answers. When I was new I wanted real time responses from people who went through what I was going to go through. You'll also find that you take certain people's opinions as more valid than others so making your own post/question sometimes gives you better information than a search. A more productive suggestion would be to use the search tool on this site rather than google though.

Also, I've been known to be quick to go off on a "popular vet" or an unknown so my response has nothing to do with you personally. Don't take this board so seriously though... it's not worth stressing over.

Wow, this is my first day to go into the forums.  I can not believe this post.  As if google has the real life answers people are looking for.  As a new user, I hope you never run across or answer any of my threads.  If youre sick of something, simply dont participate. Dont take it out on people in search of real people looking for real help.

So, instead of saying you can't even see the original post ( which wouldn't be supportive at all, despite your jumping to conclusions about what is said). Let me take this opportunity to wish you the very best in your journey...

Isn't asking here like asking on Google? You ask google, it spits out several responses. You ask here you get several responses. I read lots of posts and never respond even though I may know the answer. What's the problem with just skipping the question if u don't want to answer?
