My front tooth was slightly chipped during surgery.  I noticed a few days after I got home.  It really wasn't a big deal and figured I'd just live with it.  It's been 2 months, and now I noticed. the area where the enamel is missing is starting to change colors.

So, who would I contact regarding this?  The surgeon or the hospital?

Probably neither.
I believe you sign a waiver with anesthesia. It tells you teeth can be chipped.
With my back surgery they pinched my lingual nerve and 4 years out one side of my tongue is still slightly numb
Call the dentist.
Also...just in case the dentist could let you know if the chip is in a common spot for surgery patients. If it isnt the I would call your anesthesiologist. If it is it may be the price of the surgery.

Bleh.. I forgot about the waivers.  I'm sure you're right.  Oh well.

Chipping a tooth during surgery is a risk but... it was pretty crappy and chitty that nobdy said anything to you to apologize.

I mean, basic manners, right?

The discoloration makes it sounds like there is a possibility of decay.

The discoloration could mean the death of the root of the tooth. see your dentist ASAP. Good luck.
