If you block somebody, do you think it is Ok to start a thread about that person?

Just curious how the board feels about this.

If person A blocks person B I think most of us would agree that there is no problem with that.  

BUT, what if person A reads posts by person B and then starts an entirely different thread about person B with false statements?    Would it be different if said thread did not have false statements?

What is your take on this?  Is it Ok since the blocked person is still able to read the thread if somebody alerts them, or if they catch it before they sign in?  Is it not Ok since person B does not really have the option of a response? 

What are your thoughts?

I think it's total passive aggressive BS and manipulative behavior.  People tend to hide behind the block when they don't have a good argument to raise in active debate.  These threads are posted only to satisfy padding egos.  I see about one or two a month  that solicits responses praising the OP.  The other type of thread you find about once a month is the "I have a friend who used a different doctor and is still fat" thread.  

Totally agree!  We have a person on another board that blocks people that disagree with her and than starts thread after thread stating misinformation.  You (or all the others she has blocked,) can't correct her as your blocked from posting on her thread.

I don't know how many people have me blocked and I honestly don't give a rat's **** who blocks me and who doesn't. They are entitled to their opinions. I'm entitled to mine. One thing I've never needed to still respect the hell out of someone is to have to agree with them.

We are all adults. Disagreements happen. There are more than a few people on this forum that don't like me. But see, that's their problem. It's only my problem if I make it my problem.

As some awesome person said yesterday, I'm a grown ass woman and I make my own grown ass decisions.

Happyteacher - you've had tremendous success. Let that fact speak for you. When people ask for help, tell them what works for you. This journey is different for all of us and the more information we can share, the better, imo.

Let this **** go and just do you - just a suggestion of course. I didn't see that thread pointed directly at you, but I might have missed something. It's been known to happen.

One question - how did you respond on Frisco's thread if he has you blocked? I have never been able to do that.

cyberbullying is a violation of TOS.  I had to remind him repeatedly of this...so have numerous other flavors of the month/ year in the past...Always women too! Strong independent thinking women...huh interesting......anyway he would unblock me to see what I would write ...then block me n repost what I wrote ......just happenstance one night...while he had me unblocked...I GOT HIM!  and Ive been as happy as a little girl ever since!!  n he's how old?...like OLD  

the Napolean complex is alive n well on this NOW LapSF sponsored forum (big mistake OH!!).  The apple doesn't fall to far from the tree...nor does a leopard change its spots! Its his m.o. low toleration of any difference of opinion, dines frequently on beef stroke-me-off...your a threat  cuz ya make sense!  Anyone that doesn't meet cult status criteria and gets to goal..its a fluke.

Well ya can sign out...and copy his posts...if he name calls, if he libels you in any way...REPORT HIM..  copy it all down n paste any hateful, out of context, name calling, anything ....and send it to OH. Keep at it...if at first you don't succeed...

Ive reported him many times when he was doin his block unblock ..even when blocked I would send it to OH...Ive had several posts of his removed for libel, hatred and harassment...so I know that it does work

Pathetic isn't it. I read all the follow up threads after yours and laughed at the irony and childishness of some of the comments.

I have seen (and been PM'ed by) many people who are too afraid to post some questions on the boards when they want a different opinion rather than just getting the tune from the usual song sheet. But they are afraid of being bullied or ostracised. It makes me really mad that people feel like that.

I think its dangerous for new people to be lead to believe that there is only one path to success and if you don't follow it....you WILL fail. That was certainly how I felt initially and spent many nights stressing and crying about not being able to drink protein shakes.

9 months on, having found what works for me, I'm not dead, my blood tests are all perfect and I've lost 170lbs. But apparently because I didn't follow "the plan", my experience and success is less valid. I get no congratulations for hitting my previous goals from anyone in "the clique". Not that I'm offended, because I don't really care. It just shows that support is only given if you subscribe to the cult.

WLS is NOT a one size fits all journey. Everyone should be able to share what has worked for them without being judged, defamed or discredited by anyone. We are all grown ups and can make up our own minds about what information might be useful for us personally and what's not relevant.

What amazes me is not 1 of the VETS that believe their way is the only way are here defending themselves.
