Evening eating
Before surgery, I tried not to eat past 9:00 at night. I don't imagine that will change now that I'm post-op. It matters to me because I don't feel right with food freshly in my belly when I go to bed at night. And as silly as this sounds, I like to have a good guess as to when I'm going to poo in the morning! That matters when school starts as I can't always get to the bathroom when I need to. :(
Totally matters to me! I don't eat or drink after 8...I go to bed about 10, if I have anything later, I get discomfort in my chest which I can only imagine is heartburn and also I get a little reflux...taking my pills at night even causes me issues...tonight the evening got away from me and here it is 9 and I am just taking pills...probably have to stay up until 10:30 or 11:00...YUCK!!!
I try to eat my last meal between 5:00-7:00pm. Sometimes it's even after 7:30-8:00pm if it's a late work night/gym night. I'll continue to drink water thru the rest of the evening though, maybe even having a sugar-free ice pop, but I need to stop eating solids 2-3 hrs before bedtime during the work week. Nothing is worse than having reflux or gastric distress by laying down to go to sleep too soon after eating!
Wow, guess I'm going against the grain somewhat here- when I stop eating depends more on when I can log in those last grams of protein for the day that will send me over the 75-90 mark. If that is10:00 or even later, then so be it. Same with the water- it is important to me to reach those levels, otherwise Idrag around the next day,not to mention it slows down my already moderately slow weight loss mode. Somehow it seems my. Body needs a certain amount of protein to maintain this process. Often times I'll kill two birds with one stone and have a protein shake before bed.

The further I get out, and the more normal my life becomes, the harder it is to take time out to eat. Ironic, isn't it? Before WLS I had all the time in the world to eat (and I did!- reading books, watching tv- just sitting around and eating). Now that I've lost weight, I'm so busy living that....well, you know. Funny how it goes, but, seriously, mindful eating and scheduling it is important. Hopefully when school starts up, I will do a better job of it.
