Backpacking trip and a huge NSV
Just a happy note...
I have always wanted to do a backpacking trip, but the weight was a dealbreaker. Just decided on a whim with the hubby to go and picked a moderate/challenging trail. I was pretty nervous because I have never tried it, but it went splendidly! 8.2 miles on day one, no problems sleeping in a tent at night, and 10 miles on day 2... all hiking had tons of hills and such too! Had a great time and just dropped $800 on gear for the hubby and I so we don't have to borrow again. Can't wait to do it again, and I love my sleeve!
And yea- we are both pretty sore!

That's fantastic! I guess you had to haul the gear around as well, so that added to the experience. :) I'm so glad you pushed the envelope and found out by doing that you love that type of trip. It's inspiring on a couple of levels.
I am proud that I hauled my own gear- most would think that is kinda goofy, but I suspect folks on this board understand why that is a big deal to me! With that said though, all of the gear I am buying has to be on the light end. My pack weighed in at 28 pounds, and I for sure would not want an ounce heavier. Lightened up the gear though compared to my son's stuff :)

That is super cool!!! I LOVE doing things with the hubby that I did a couple decades ago, but have not been able to for too long! Tennis NSV is a beautiful thing! I totally wish the hubby played tennis, or would be willing to learn. Not his cup of tea though.
