PB2.. How great is it?

I absolutely love peanut butter! I used to have a PB sandwich every morning for breakfast. I have heard a few people mention this PB2 powder to blend in with protein shakes. I am having trouble finding a protein that i like the taste of.. but thought maybe if it tasted like peanut butter I could totally stand it! What are your opinions on this product?

It's powdered peanut butter, so the flavor is 100% PB, but the mouth feel is totally different. I found it but haven't used in anything yet because the protein i have on hand is vanilla. I think it would be much tastier with chocolate. But, it didn't stop me from grabbing a spoon and tasting a bit!

I liked it mixed in with vanilla protein powder and unsweetened almond milk.

I like it even mixed with a bit of water and eaten just like a spoon of PB :)

PB2 is a good sub, but if you want better quality look for the brand "Just Great Stuff" powdered PB (& Choc PB). More expensive, but has a much better taste IMO.  And it's organic if you're into that sort of thing.   I just ordered a case of it thru Costco online.  I use it in my shakes everyday.

I've been using the PB2 for a Spicy Peanut Sauce and it works great.  The peanut taste is very rich.  the texture is different because much of the fat is removed, but that doesn't bother me in the sauce.

I saw an article on peanut butter substitutes, and they recommended the peanut flour from Trader Joes.  I was going to try that next, as it is less expensive.

Good luck,

Carol

I want to try something like this http://www.bellplantation.com/recipes/easy-slow-cooker-thai- pb2-chicken

I think that the PB2 is awesome....I was on a different diet when I was using this and I would put it in with a chocolate shake and it tasted like a peanut butter cup. It is very very good I think!!!

I like it in my shakes. It tones down the sickeningly sweet taste a bit.

I use peanut flour a lot (defatted roasted peanuts - PB2 without the added salt and sugar) 1/4 cup of it has 110 calories and 16g protein.

Yes, it tastes like peanut butter - Yummo!
