The Waiting has Begun!

Well my bariatric office has officially submitted today to insurance for approval for surgery! I have Aetna and according to the insurance rep in the office they say that they usually get a response back from Aetna within 2 weeks. I'm super nervous now! I can't believe I'm almost there. Once they get approval from insurance they are only scheduling out 1-2 weeks for surgery. I hope that these next 2 weeks go by quickly!

Best wishes for you! I have Cigna and I'm scared to death of a denial or the process taking longer for approval than my nerves can handle lol. 

 

My office has been super positive that they will have no problems with insurance. I know they approve because I know several people where I used to work (still have my ins through them) that have gone through the same process. They have been really quick about approving everything else in the last year so I'm hoping that it won't take as long as they are saying!

that's wonderful!  only thing i'm stressed about is the two year bmi requirement- you all good on that front?

O yea.  I've been over 43 BMI for almost 3 years now. Only thing I'm struggling on is my preop weight loss. They want me down 27lbs to 241. I'm at 250.5 today (which isn't bad considering it is the TOM). I think part of it is I'm shedding my fat weight but I'm gaining muscle weight from my workouts.

I hope you get approved. I got my surgery scheduled and got approved literally the day before my surgery.

Good luck, I submitted my insurance paperwork on Tuesday. My waiting has begun as well.  Had to change insurance this year because the plan I was on last year had an exclusion. I an now on one that allows for WLS.
