OMG that made me wince, I'm so sorry for you!  Glad you got it taken care of quickly!  I sliced my finger the first time I used my brand new chef knife, and I still get the willies when I take it out to use it.  I'm always using something other than my hand to hold what I'm cutting now.  

Just got off the phone with my friend...told her what you did...she wants to know if you bought your slicer at Sam's???  Also said to ask if it is all stainless steel or plastic.

How are you feeling now? healing well?

I got it and bed bath and beyond...the base is plastic...it was $40. It got good reviews and I think when I'm not gun shy anymore, I will really like it...it's the OXO Good grips.
